Hello, I'm Holly, and I intern down in Annapolis for Delegate Nathaniel Oaks, District 41. We are trying to pass a bill that would make BOTH the oriole and the raven our state birds.
Of course this is because of our football team. Besides that, a raven is surprisingly a very intelligent bird, with one of the largest brains out of all the birds... but I'll skip the rest of my testimony.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME PASS THIS
All you have to do, is call your district's delegate, whether you live in Baltimore... or even the Eastern Shore and tell them that you want the raven to be state bird too!
To find your area's elected officials, click here
. Just follow the directions. Type in your address or click on the map with the "info" button, and your represenatives will show up. Remember to call your delegate (not senator or councilman).
Call anytime, chances are the delegate won't be at their desk when you call. Leave a message! Whether it's a voicemail or you speak to their aide, please just make your message clear.
Here is a sample of what you could say: Hello I am John Doe and I am calling from Rockville, MD. Please give Delegate ______ the message that both the raven and the oriole should be Maryland's state birds, and to please vote for the bill that will pass it. Thank you.
The more times you call and leave annoying messages, the more likely it will get passed. Call everyday if you can!
Please, and thank you soooooo much!!!
If you have any questions, let me know. You can even call Delegate Oak's office at 4108413283 and speak to me. I'm at my desk Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 to 5, but if you leave a message anytime, I will get it and get back to you. Just ask for Holly concerning the ravens bill.

Only 3 More Days Till The Draft!
Any ideas on who, or what position, the Ravens will try to address first in the draft?
I'm thinking the Ravens may want to move up to get Jammal Brown. Plenty of teams would rather move down, so a trade is very possible. Offensive tackle is a position the Ravens are likely to be weak at within a season or two, so it makes sense to address that this year.
I'm thinking I'll be at the Spring Festival, watching the draft from there. Current Mood: cheerful

T.O. in the news again
Have you heard, T.O. is now asking for more money from the Eagles. He fired his agent and hired Drew Rosenhaus, who is now talking to the Eagles about restructuring his contract to pay him more. P.U. says that he's worth more, and should get more. I am so happy we didn't get him!
I can't wait for that home pre-season game. The Ravens fans get a chance to give P.U. a real Baltimore welcome... Current Mood: annoyed

I believe this might be the best free-agent period ever for the Ravens. Our defensive line is still just slightly suspect, but the quality of the rest of the team is incredible. Samari Rolle and Chris MacAllister? Jeez... Our offense should improve quite a bit as well, although I have to admit that there's a great deal of room for improvement.
I'm really looking forward to this season. I'm not sure what to do with that dorky looking 10th Anniversary patch, though... Current Mood: cheerful

Ravens are my favorite team.
Use to be Jet fan for a long time but the last two years i've crossed over.
I'm from Connecticut.
My best friend is a Browns fan so we go at it all the time.
I think this magical start Pittsburgh has gotten off to will not last.
I believe we will win the division this year or have a damn good chance.
I'm 18 by the way.
Anyone care to be friends? Current Mood: anxious

Check this out Ravens fans
Thomas Boswell in the Washington post on the Ravens and the Redskins
Whew! Glad I root for the good guys! How bad does your ownership have to suck when the op-ed pieces in the hometown paper are about him the day after the team loses a game they were in until the 4th quarter, whereupon they proceded to collapse? He's the Angelos of the NFL. If one of them ever wins a championship it will be the biggest stroke of luck in history.
